Each year, award season dazzles with countless striking looks on each event’s red carpet. The 2026 Grammy Awards held on Feb. 1 were no exception.
Both Sabrina Carpenter and Doechii exceeded expectations with their return to the Grammy Awards. Carpenter stepped onto the red carpet in a detailed white custom Valentino gown. Layered with ruffles, the skirt of sheer material was bespeckled with pearls, complimenting the beading of the backless caplet gracing her shoulders. The bodice of her gown was beaded over a nude lining, with intricate floral patterns resembling a poppy.
Outfitted in 90s archival Roberto Cavalli, both of Doechii’s looks were full of deep bodied color. She was first photographed in a royal purple corset with a sweeping tiered train and a pop of orange at the top of the bodice.
When asked about her look, Doechii commented to Elle magazine, “I’m focused on beauty. I’m focused on womanhood. I just think these fabrics, the beads, the natural hair… It’s all coming back to me and I love it.”
As she was announcing Best Rap Album alongside Queen Latifah, the hip hop artist appeared in another Cavalli in the evening. Doechii graced the stage in an intricate top which seemed to be melded out of colorful stones and gold. The coordinating skirt was a rich wine color and seemed to be made up of a feathered material.
Among the glitter and lace, it was quickly noticed that several musical artists attending the awards were using this press opportunity to protest against the violence conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement, as documented by Minnesotan witnesses. Small, white, “ICE OUT” pins decorated many lapels and necklines in the Grammys audience. Some of these notable artists include Joni Mitchell, Justin Vernon (Of Bon Iver), and Kehlani.
Winning Album of the Year, Bad Bunny also made fashion history at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The Puerto Rican singer smoldered in a black velvet suit which happened to be Schiaparelli’s debut into menswear. Although striking from the front, this particular suit is designed to be appreciated from behind, as the back of the jacket is stitched up the middle with distinct gold embellishments.
Chappell Roan also revealed a bold look designed by Mugler that night. The gown was created from sheer burgundy material that appeared to drape between Roan’s breast, attached by the nipple. Although it has been revealed to Allure that the chiffon was secured to realistic prosthetics, the midwest princess was turning heads left and right. Roan’s stylist Sasha Glasser also shared that she had printed out Roan’s fake tattoo designs at a Staples the night before.
It is frequently said that men’s red carpet looks lack flavor, but there were a few individuals who took an extra step to break free from the sea of the plain black tuxes. Gesaffelstein, a French DJ, added prominent accessories, a black mask covering his entire head as well as gloves made from the same shiny, statue-esque material. The result made the man unrecognizable, and was a big hit with the press.
Pharell Williams, the menswear creative director for Louis Vuitton, flaunted a pastel-pink double-breasted suit. He was matching with fellow Clipse bandmates Pusha T and Malice.
Nominated for Best New Artist, Sombr entered the awards sparkling in the glow of the camera’s flashes. Wearing a suit covered in small mirrored panels, the singer’s custom Valentino ensemble also included a see-through gold lace shirt as well as pointed seafoam slippers.
