Thrifting is like a treasure hunt, you never know what you’re going to find. Rising to popularity, 74% of people have or are willing to shop second-hand, according to a survey conducted in an article by New York University. It is a cost-effective way to elevate your closet with unique pieces that not everyone has.  Here are a few local thrift stores and consignment shops that you may consider visiting in Corvallis!

 

Heartland Humane Society thrift: 

 

Heartland Humane society thrift shop is located downtown Corvallis.This thrift shop generates 25-30% of Heartland Humane’s Annual budget with their mission being focused around supporting members of the Heartland Humane Society themselves. Items that you may find at this shop include clothing, homegoods, vintage collectibles, shoes, books, furniture, and pet items. Thrift shop manager, Tiga Evans says “someone said once, you guys have the most amazing selection of random stuff”. If you are interested further, you can donate your personal items, or sign up to volunteer at the shop. 

 

Second Glance Consignment shop:

 

Serving Corvallis since 1984, Second Glance is a family owned consignment shop. “We are a women’s consignment store that focuses on clothing that is in season and in style for all ages,” says Jessica Lee, Operations Manager, and daughter of shop owner Nancy Kneisel. If you are looking to sell your clothing, shoes, and accessories, they have you covered as well as offering a wide selection of fashion goods. Lee also says that “everyone should be able to afford high quality pieces for a fraction of the price.” 

 

The Arc Thrift: 

 

The Arc thrift store has two locations, one in Corvallis and Philomath. Proceeds from The Arc funds programs like skill-building, social activities, employment training, and criminal justice advocacy for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Benton County. The items you can find here include clothing, shoes, houseware, furniture, books, electronics, linens, and toys. You can find bargains at this thrift shop while supporting a good cause.

Runway Fashion Exchange is a buy and sell second-hand clothing store. They are known for their unbeatable prices and wide selection of brands. If you are looking to sell your gently worn clothing, they got your back. You can sell your clothes for cash or in store credit all year round!
