October 18, 2017
Despite the common negative stigma carried with thrift shopping, there has been a shift in culture. Going shopping at thrift stores has become the “hip” new thing to do. The popularity of shopping at thrift stores has attracted many teenagers and young adults, forecasting it to become a hot trend. Stores like Goodwill, Savers, and local second hand stores are now filled with vintage and unique items in addition to retro looks from the 80’s and 90’s.
People walk in with hopes of finding something unique and cheap. There’s a thrill of going thrift shopping- the feeling of the unknown. We are finding this is what people love most about thrifting. A lot of people enjoy this kind of shopping because of the simple idea that they might find something unique that probably nobody else has, something you can’t find when shopping at a mall.
Besides having great selection and styles, thrift stores allow people to bargain shop. A lot of thrift stores have reduced prices, guaranteeing a good deal. In addition to having low prices, Goodwill and other select local second hand stores have additional discounted prices. For specified colored tags there may be an addition 25% to 75% discount. So if you ever just want to add a unique piece to your wardrobe, visit any of your local thrift stores, perhaps you will find something just for you.
