Brand: Bruiser Clothing
June 5, 2017
Bruiser is a clothing line that launched in the fall of 2015 in Portland, Oregon. That same fall, they were asked to show at Portland Fashion Week where they presented ten looks. As the brand became more popular, they began to support local artists, either by donating clothes or helping them design logos and cover art. According to the owner and designer Jose Benitez, a Bruiser is “someone who is passionate about what they do and is aggressively going after their ambitions.”
Bruiser is more than just a brand, it is an attitude that you adopt. This is why the clothes themselves consist of minimalistic designs and coloring because it’s believed that loud colors aren’t needed to stand out. The basic designs also allow for people to incorporate the pieces seamlessly into their wardrobe. Another great attribute about this brand includes their awareness to sustainability. Jose researches the factories where the garments are created in order to ensure that it is done ethically and done so using inks and chemicals which are not harmful to the environment. I’m genuinely excited for what Bruiser Clothing is going to do next.
