Dressing for the Cold 101: 5 looks to beat the winter chill

by Emma Strgar

Winter styling poses a lot of questions and concerns. For example, how do you dress for a 30 degree day when you spend most of your time inside an office that’s 70 degrees? What items can transition from your summer/fall closet, and which need to go in a box until the end of the season?

Today, we’re going to check out five different looks that will be perfect for everything you have to get dressed for this winter!

WHAT TO WEAR:

1. HOLIDAY GIFT SHOPPING

For something cute, cozy, and comfortable to rock while you’re headed around town buying gifts and running errands, try something like this look. The bright colors keep you feeling cheery, and the knit sweater keeps you warm. Sneakers help your feet from hurting from all the walking you’re doing. Grab a puffy coat to throw on top, and off you go!

 2. BRUNCH

For a brunch date with friends, you want to feel chic with minimal effort. This monochromatic cream look is easy to wear on a Sunday morning and leaves you feeling put together.

3. HOLIDAY PARTY

For your holiday party this year, go bold in prints and accent colors. This ASOS snakeskin button-up dress is the perfect statement piece with a pair of tights and boots or heels. Add some red lipstick and jewelry, and you’ve got yourself a show-stopping party look.

4. AT WORK

A patterned blouse, white jeans, and boots with a nice black coat is the perfect outfit to go to the office in. It layers nicely to keep you warm outside, and still look nice and fashionable once your jacket is off.

5. OUT TO DINNER

For a dressier look, try a pair of snakeskin pants, a turtleneck, and a long coat. Heels, boots, or sneakers are all great depending on the dress code of the restaurant. Snakeskin or patterned pants add something extra to an otherwise basic look.
